Marshall Postmaster Mike Schragg leads a new postal exhibit trailer to tour the country. The Marshall Postal Museum and city groups funded about 7500 dollars for the vehicle and paint. Schragg, in office since 1979 and retiring soon, aims to showcase Marshall museums and local history during travels.

Marshall Brass Company wins a 7 year Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate for 1.3 million in personal property improvements at 450 Liggitt Road. The move keeps 11 current jobs and adds one more in two years. J & L Manufacturing receives a 12 year exemption for 48 939 in real property improvements at 1507 George Brown Drive, a 7 500 square foot warehouse addition that retains nine of ten staff and adds 12 new positions over two years. The next council meeting is April 15 at 7 PM.

Recall Petitions Scrutinized for Marshall Board Members
Four Marshall Board of Education members Harrow Marsh Rhodes and Carrel face recall petitions filed with the County Clerk. About 1600 signatures per member were filed to meet the 1180 required, with 10317 voters in the district. Two political committees form. Citizens for Better Representation backs recall with treasurer Carol Ramon, while Citizens Putting Children First opposes it with treasurer Lynne Haley. Students seek a new school nickname. If signatures pass validation a recall vote will be scheduled.

A community wide effort named Marshall in Focus 2007 invites residents to shape vision values and five year goals. A steering committee part of the Marshall Area Chamber and City will coordinate workshops called Meeting in a Box with host instructions and agendas. Community support comes from City of Marshall LDFA Oaklawn Hospital and State Farm with calls for more volunteers and funding.
