Wall Tie Up Mines and Big Anthracite Strike Expected

Indianapolis leaders of the United Mine Workers meet to decide on a possible strike of 143,000 anthracite miners. President Mitchell indicates a strike is likely if granted, with messages to district presidents to order men out. Board discussions focus on whether all men will strike and how to sustain half a million people during any stoppage. If approved, telegrams will announce permission to strike to district leaders. Mitchell plans to supervise the action in the coal region. The executive board has not yet voted.
