Local Ward Caucuses Nominate City Delegates
The city held ward caucuses with few surprises as Democrats and Republicans in each ward named supervisors and aldermen. Notable entries include First Ward Democrats naming Marvin Ferguson and Orrin Doud for supervisor and constable respectively, while First Ward Republicans renominated J. T. Mack and J. 0. Miller. Second Ward selections favored Solomon Knox and Solomon Joy for supervisor and alderman with a solid slate of delegates to the city convention. Third Ward Democrats backed John Kelly for supervisor and Dr. Dean for alderman, with a large turnout and orderly votes. Republican third ward nominees included J. F. Gants for supervisor and D. W. Moore for alderman after two ballots. Fourth Ward saw contests for supervisor and alderman with Elmer Bennett and Antone Egeler winning on the Democratic side, and R. B. Wilkins and C. C. Perrin for the Republicans. Ward committees and delegates were listed for the coming year.

Havana Reports Senate Delegation Plans To Gather Data
Havana March 28 The Dolphin departed for the United States carrying members of the Cuban senate committee. Senators intend to present their reports soon and will not speak for publication until then. They have outlined plans to collect information and relay it to the group. They have privately consulted many Cuban representatives and shared views, seldom published. One interview with Gen. Monteagalo and Col. Villuondas said Cuba is free of bandits and that fear of danger in districts has eased. They noted traders move freely, sugar estate owners can transport money unimpeded, and that no agitation exists in the eastern provinces. They denied any appetite for annexation by the United States.
