Waves in the Air and Balloon Observations
Helmholtz notes that warm air currents moving over cooler denser air create regular waves in the lower layer, with crests perpendicular to the upper flow. Wave lengths vary with temperature difference, and moisture-rich air reveals visible cloud bands. Emden confirms the theory via balloon measurements. Miss Mabelly Crossman opens a Musical Studio on State street in Chicago on April first.
