Vanderbilt Syndicate Secures Cincinnati Northern Victory
The Vanderbilt group and the O. B. & D. clique outbid Woodfords for control of the Cincinnati Northern after negotiations. If completed, Cincinnati Northern terminals would challenge the C. H. & D. by appealing to western Michigan traffic now routed through Toledo and Michigan lines and then south via the C. H. & D. This accelerates development of the line and threatens CHD business share.
