Automobile mishap marred band trip to Martinsville
Westfield and Martinsville bands toured with the Marshall Band for a horse show weekend. Sol Handy’s big automobile driven by Will Wallace struck Allen Lockhart fracturing his collar bone, then crashed into Mayor Weir’s car. Despite the accident the trip was deemed a success with subsequent trips planned to West Union Darwin and Terre Haute.

Local Tennis Meet Held at Fort Harrison Country Club
A Terre Haute gathering showed a tennis tournament on Fort Harrison Country Club grounds. Death of William Rider age 67 in Dennison area
William L. Rider died at his home near Dennison after a long illness from kidney trouble. Gangrene necessitated amputation of part of both feet. A veteran of the 3rd Indiana Infantry he is survived by his wife and six brothers. Funeral and Masonic burial rites were held at Beulah Church on Monday.
