Surprising Yank Offense Captures Germans by Thousands
A World War I era account describes rapid American advances in France, noting a single infantry regiment that captured 2250 Germans in 48 hours. It highlights prisoner pulls, sudden surrenders, a Greek sergeant named Hercules Korgis who brokered a major convoy, and the collapse of German resistance near quarry hideouts.
