The report notes ongoing recovery of a wounded soldier as he plans to rejoin action in two months. Roy serves as a gun pointer on an inch howitzer and praises French hospitality. The fair faced heavy rains Tuesday to Thursday, eased Thursday night, with continued cold, then Saturday's nicer weather boosted crowds. Despite conditions, exhibitors presented premium livestock and products, racing drew strong entries, and organizers say the event would have succeeded with better weather.
