Electrified tragedy claims life of lineman at St Louis intersection
Charles Beadles 38 a lineman with Laclede Gas Light Company was electrocuted noon at Vandeventer and Bell avenues touching a 2300 volt line while stringing wires. Fellow workers lowered him from the pole and rushed him to St Luke’s hospital where revival efforts failed. In a separate incident Roy Cass of Harrisburg Illinois died in an explosion after lighting a cigarette near a filling gasoline tank.
