George Greenwell of Martinsville was brought to Marshall on the charge of assault and battery against his daughter Grace. He posted $300 bond for a Saturday appearance at 1 PM. A suit to place Grace in a better home was also filed. Hearing set for 9 AM Saturday.

Printing shop notes delays and repairs after a broken spring
The Linotype broke a hollow spring delaying mail and work. A replacement from Chicago caused a package hold at Burleson’s post office until Thursday. Despite few breakdowns this year the shop expects some job printing to slip to next week and may need night work.

Stephen Fisher Mitchell born September 11 1845 in Saline County Illinois died September 17 1920 in Marshall Illinois after a long illness. He married Jutta Barbara Baker in 1867 lived near Mitchellsville Illinois until 1903 and then married Emma Mitchell in 1913. Survived by eight of eleven children Henry Mitchell Mary Pulley Laura Midlin Della Kelly R A Mitchell G D Mitchell Lula Sadler Earl H Mitchell and present wife Emma plus three brothers. Funeral held at 300 oclock Saturday with Rev P R Powers in Marshall. Interment in Blackman Cemetery Mitchellsville.

Boy shoots hand with old .22 in North 9th Street incident
An eight year old boy, son of Mr and Mrs Sherman Irvin of North 9th Street, fired a loaded .22 into his left hand on Thursday. He believed the gun was unloaded due to age but it discharged and required careful removal of the bullet and treatment of the wound.

Hood Steps on Nail in Garage Accident
