Thirty years ago Dr James Madison suffered a serious accident last Friday afternoon while feeding an apple crusher at his brother Eds. He moved and apples rolled toward the rollers trapping his foot. The old horse halted the motion after his frantic cry. He pulled free and returned home refusing hospital. Doctors arrived and amputations were performed on the great toe and the toe beside it. He is recovering well barring blood poisoning. A midweek storm north of Auburn caused damage with unroofed outbuildings blown hay and leveled fences after heavy rain. Mrs Al Fraker has been very ill for weeks but improved yesterday.
