Mellon Gets New Bridge Contract Near Martinsville
Mellon Construction Company will start work Monday on a new bridge east of Martinsville at the proposed intersection of the National Trail and the Pennsylvania railroad. The $20,000 project includes moving the creek channel and building a new road on the north side of the tracks as part of a highway realignment to ease a dangerous crossing.

The Sugar Creek Creamery of Danville purchased the controlling interest in the Marshall Milk and Cream Company on Friday. Terms were not disclosed but par value will be paid for all stock with options valid for one year. O. K. Allen stays as manager and will aid development of Clark county dairy industry. the plant remains a whole milk condensing company with plans for better markets and financial support.

Marissa Banker Convicted in Livestock Disease Violation Case
J A Hamilton a Marissa banker financier and farmer was found guilty by a St Clair county circuit court jury of violating the 1909 act on suppressing and preventing spread of animal diseases. Trial evidence showed branded tubercular cattle on his farm and failure to segregate them after warnings. The penalty has not yet been pronounced.
