The Pine Street sewer ordinance passed Monday night by a 4 to 2 vote after a motion to table failed. Flowers Machlan Millhouse and Mundy supported. Garwood and Sowers opposed. An ordinance to gravel about 1000 yards on 11th Street from Vine was tabled. Dan Spittler was granted the right to concrete the road at the corner of South and Main east of his garage. About 35 attendees expected the 5th Street paying function to come up, but it was not mentioned.

Mrs William Bradley Injured In Marshall Traffic Crash
Mrs William Bradley received a broken left leg Monday evening when two cars collided west of Marshall. She rode in a Ford with her husband and Mr and Mrs Si Bradley. A Mr Wilhoit of Martinsville passed another car and struck them. Both cars were demolished. Others were scratched and bruised. The injured were taken to Dr. R A Mitchell's office.

The Short Line Telegraph Co extended to Jim Greenough residence and he is becoming a noted lightning slinger. David S McMullen bought Jonathan Hogue's stake in Clark County Bank and will split time between Marshall and the bank.

Largest coal train ever hauled by Pennsylvania Company
The Pennsylvania Company pulled a record coal train of 180 cars totaling 3887 feet and 5212 tons from Altoona to Columbus in fourteen hours. Paul Behner of Martinsville led the Clark County Dairy Herd Improvement Association in September with 662 pounds of milk per cow and a 34.6 butterfat in the top five producing herds. Arthur Guinnip of near Marshall placed second, third, and fifth overall, with his Jersey and Guernsey mix, while J K Wallis, Verlin Murphy, and W W Drake followed in butterfat rankings. The five highest producing cows totaled 1,272 to 1,080 pounds of butterfat among owners Charles Rains, Arthur Guinnip, and Harry Maurer, with Guinnip appearing multiple times. Five unprofitable cows were sold from 250 tested cows, and the overall herd average was 528 pounds with 23.1 butterfat. Morgan notes grain rations as a key factor in the September spread between high and low Holsteins.

Frances Chenoweth aged 25 died Friday at her brother Preston Chenoweth’s home in Shelton Nebraska. The body was moved to Marshall Monday for funeral services Tuesday at the Christian Church with Rev.
