Soldier Reunion At Pattons Grove Honors Veterans Of Fear's Post
Veterans of Fear's Post 649 held a reunion at Patton's Grove on September 24 and 26. They enjoyed stories of the war and praised volunteers from Marshall and Dennison for cooking and serving a splendid repast. Present were numerous members from Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky units including Co. C 79th Indiana Inf and many others.

Splendid Man Dies After Brief Illness
Will H. Washburn a Clark county teacher and Sunday school worker died after a short illness at thirty five. He leaves a wife and two daughters. Funeral services at Centenary church were well attended by relatives friends and Christian workers from across the county. A full obituary will appear in the next issue.

Vandalia wreck injures Terre Haute fireman at St Jacob
Edward Worley of Terre Haute a Vandalia fireman suffered a broken leg and other injuries when his engine derailed at St Jacob in one of the railroad line’s infrequent wrecks. Mary and George Martin visited Walnut Prairie Saturday and were joined Sunday by Gene Martin and Eula Morton.

Ben T. Baird filed suit Monday in Esquire Craig's court seeking possession of rooms occupied by the Marshall Club for alleged nonpayment of rent and gambling use. Neighbors complained of noise. Baird was granted judgment and the club appealed to the circuit court.
