Daniel D. Doll Dies After 50 Years in Marshall Grocery Trade

Daniel D. Doll a longtime Marshall grocer aged 72 died suddenly in Marshall Illinois on November 17 1920. He led the Clark County Bank founding effort and served as Cemetery Association president and Powell of community ties. He left wife Belle and children Lewis Doll and Mrs Clarence Smith with granddaughter Bernice Smith. Funeral Friday at his residence with Rev Pettit officiating. Burial in Marshall Cemetery.

Farmers Stock Show Plans for International at Chicago

Clark county farmers plan to attend the International Stock Show at the Chicago stock yards during the first week in December. A special Wabash Valley Empire car will depart Marshall at 9 05 a m on the Big Four and transfer at Danville to a C B I line train for Chicago arriving 5 20 p m Thursday December 2. The event features breeding and feeding lessons with gains from attendance valuable to livestock producers. Secretary of Agriculture Meredith and governors of several livestock states are expected to visit during the annual meeting of livestock breeders associations and related groups.

Dehl and Bline Marry in Terre Haute Nuptials

Roy Dehl, son of Mr and Mrs Frank Dehl, and Maggie Bline, daughter of Mr and Mrs William Bline, were married in Terre Haute on Saturday. The groom, head teamster in his district for Ohio Oil Co, and the bride, described as an accomplished young lady, are favored by many friends who wish them a long, prosperous life together.

City School Board Meets To Discuss Wiring and Insurance

The Marshall city school board met Monday night to approve routine items. Plans were made to wire the north side school building for electric lights. Insurance on both buildings was raised from about 15,000 to about 30,000.

Mullen Taken to Anna Insane Hospital by Deputy Sheriff

Deputy Sheriff Charles Short escorted William Mullen to the insane hospital in Anna. The jailed man, recently arrested for chicken theft, attempted suicide last week by cutting his throat with a broken bottle.

Mrs Young Improving After Minor Operation At Paris Hospital

Mrs V G Young was moved to the Paris hospital for a minor operation last week. She is reported to be recovering well but remains confined for several days. Her mother Mrs Gernet of Chicago is here caring for the children. Red Men Tribe Announces Degrees and Elections

The Red Men held a fine meeting on Monday night with William Layton and Charles Bierbaum receiving the warrior’s degree. The chief’s degree will follow next Monday. A lunch, upcoming rabbit supper, and officers election are planned for December.

Spencer Indiana led with 22 attendees to Clinton percent at the Associated Advertising Clubs meeting. The Lowe silver loving cup goes to the town with the largest delegation traveled the farthest. King Has Flown From Jail Return To Paris Story

King, who bored his way through jail here some time ago, was said to be in Paris. Sheriff Byram reportedly traveled there to locate him, but King had already been released after 10 to 15 days, prompting Byram to return alone.

Box Supper Success At Local High School Event

The box supper at the high school drew about 200 attendees and cleared around $60. Auctioneer Clyde H. Knowles oversaw the bidding while Remlinger Edwards and Stub Steele tied for big feet honors, with Steele finally winning. Prizes went to the handsomest couple and the most lovesick couple. All attendees report a great time.

Elijah Buchanan of Casey now resides in the county jail on the forgery charge. Reports said his wife may have written the checks while he passed them. she was jailed briefly and later released.

Mrs Dovey Forsythe dies at 26 in Trimble

Mrs Dovey Forsythe wife of Ernest Forsythe died Friday night at age 26 years 6 months and 5 days. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs S D Creed of Trimble. Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at the church in Oliver. Burial followed in the Forsythe cemetery.
