The grand jury adjourned with a usual number of indictments. Names include Gaddis Jr and Sr in burglary and larceny cases, Lovell, Adams, Tibbs, Kimberlin, and others for crimes from forgery to rape and receiving stolen property. Mrs Louie Adams born August 18 1848 near Wel nut Prairie Indiana died November 6 1915 at home near Graysville. She married Richard Adams March 3 1895 and cared for four stepchildren. She joined Presbyterian church then Union Chapel where funeral was led by Rev Deahl. Suffering from cancer she was beloved as Aunt Lou and left a husband four stepdaughters one brother and three sisters. Burial was in Union Chapel cemetery.

Edith May Ogle born May 7 1899 in Darwin township died November 8 1915 in Lincoln Illinois aged 16 years 6 months from pneumonia. She was the second daughter of Mr and Mrs Ben Ogle of Marshall. Her mother died January 5 1904 along with three brothers and one sister. An illness at age eight left her with lifelong frailty. She leaves her father one brother and one sister and many relatives. Funeral conducted by Rev Leo J Ehrhardt at the family home with burial in Brick cemetery.

Greenup dedicates National Road marker for pioneers
In Greenup Cumberland County last Saturday a red granite monument was unveiled beside the old Barbour Inn site. The inscription notes Site of Barbour Inn 1831 and honors W C Greenup. Women’s clubs funded the memorial led by Mrs Mary A Stewart. A parade and speeches followed with Jdge Scholfield reading a resolution urging bond funding to improve the historic National Road trail through multiple Illinois counties.
