James Shelly born March 20 1841 in Shelby county Pennsylvania died October 25 1916 at Walnut Prairie. He enlisted at 24 in Company AL 126th Indiana Infantry. After the war he moved to Illinois and married Henle Brown in 1871. Funeral Wednesday conducted by Rev Moore with burial in Ohio cemetery.

Probable Suicide Near Westfield Reported
Coroner Haslitt investigated the death of Mrs. Charles Steeples near Westfield on a Wednesday. She rose about 3 AM and was found dead by her husband half an hour later. Facial burns suggested acid or lye exposure. The family recently moved from Bloomfield, Indiana. She was 24 and left a two month old child.

Sheriff frees Lang after hotel board bill dispute
Sheriff Wallace went to Moultrie county last week and brought back Clarence Lang jailed on a $365 hotel board bill complaint. Lang, assistant operator at the Pythian Theater moving picture show, was heard in Esquire Craig's court and discharged as a regular hotel boarder, with the law deemed not to protect hotelkeepers against such patrons.
