Clark County American Legion 90 will sponsor a parade from the courthouse to Marshall cemetery with bands leading several organizations. Speaker will be Paul Douglas senior senator of Illinois and American Legion dignitary. Veterans needing transport to the cemetery will be provided.
Marshall retail stores will close Saturday May 30 in observance of Memorial Day. They will stay open until 9 00 p m Friday May 29 for shopping convenience. Marshall Chamber of Commerce Retail committee Miss Pamela Prusett, daughter of Mr and Mrs Vernon Prulett, underwent a tonsillectomy at Union Hospital on Thursday.

Mrs. Jennie Ferguson of 1799 North Lincoln Robinson won $187.80 in free groceries during a five minute shopping spree at Highway Grocery Robinson. Local Pepsi bottler paid her bill of $180.58 with $7.22 tax covered by Highway Grocery owners.
Dora Fordivatus Stultz and Ida Mildred Stevens, both of West Terre Haute, Indiana, obtained marriage licenses. Eugene Sellers and Evelyn Alice Nichols, both of Terre Haute, Indiana, also secured licenses.

Marriage licenses granted for Bryan Beals and Treva Blankenbaker and for Virgie Wallace Jr and Edith Newport, both couples in Marshall.
Fred Loren reports the birth of Evelyn Joan to Mr and Mrs George Miller last Monday. Mr and Mrs Harry Washburn welcome a boy born last Saturday in Marshall.
