Death of James C. O Gara in St Louis Tuberculosis
James C O Gara a well known resident of Douglas township died Sunday at Mt Rose Sanitarium in St Louis where he had gone for tuberculosis treatment. He was 48 years nine months old and unmarried. The body was brought home for funeral services held yesterday at St Marys church. He is survived by one brother William and three sisters.

Blaze injures workers at city pumping station

Martinsville paid tribute to Lawrence Clem Beabout the first Clark county youth killed in France. He was 19 born in Martinsville lived there most of his life volunteered early in the war. He died after being wounded by a shell on April 18 with word of his death following a prior wounding report. His father W O Beachout resides in Terre Haute and his mother is deceased.
