Brakeman Killed By Train Near Allendale
A Big Four night passenger brakeman named A B Bird was killed near Allendale Thursday night. He was 25, lived with his mother at Birds, and had been promoted from freight to passenger brakeman the Sunday before the accident. It is believed he missed his footing going down the coach steps and was thrown under the wheels.
