Speaker Robert Smith of the Illinois Historical Society will discuss at the April 6 gathering after a 6 PM dinner at Tom’s Café with reservations due by April 1.

John Harlan 64 a former Marshall resident died suddenly at his home near Washington D C Tuesday morning as he started to work in the city. An announcement reports the birth of a son to Mr and Mrs C H Brown at Union Hospital Terre Haute Richard Bradley born Monday Mrs Brown formerly Virginia Prevo daughter of Mr and Mrs Sam Prevo of Marshall. Marion Hughes of Auburn again tangled with the law last Sunday and Monday was sent to Vandalia Penal Farm for six months Sheriff Hurst says Sunday marked the ninth time he has had to arrest Hughes He was at his Auburn home intoxicated when arrested and brought to Marshall and sent to Vandalia Penal Farm Monday by Deputy Sheriff Tim Bennett.

Mrs Brer T Baird 61 died Saturday morning at Moon Hospital Terre Haute.
