A public hearing will be held March 6 at 1 30 p m in Marshall Circuit Court House to decide the I 70 location from the Indiana line east of Marshall to the Clark Cumberland county line west of Casey. Maps will be available and Paris district highway staff will discuss questions with attendees. A Clark County Supervisors special meeting is scheduled for the same day at the hearing.

Large Barn Fire Erupts at Welsh Farm
Workmen report a large barn on the Welsh farm on State Line road caught fire around noon Tuesday. They left the site briefly for a rest and returned to find the structure ablaze. Fire crews battled the flames as the barn burned, with efforts ongoing to prevent spread to adjacent buildings.

Clark County Schools Weigh Boost In State Aid Proposal
Certified and non-certified staff in Marshall Community Schools attended a Casey workshop to discuss raising the foundation level from 252 to 344 and qualifying rates from 69 to 96 cents for twelve grade districts. The change would add 154503.25 to Clark County's state aid, an essential step for future student needs. Anita Fawley, a Decatur girl at Illinois State Normal University, participates in the Lowell Mason Club production of Guys and Dolls. From Jail House to Penal Farm
Joseph R. Holder, 19, and four others arrested January 25 for breaking into a home were jailed in Clark county. Holder pleaded guilty in county court to property damage and received one year at Vandalia State Penal Farm, to begin that Saturday afternoon. A Los Angeles robbery prior to his Marshall trouble may bring a sheriff from California to Vandalia upon release.
