An 18 year old Marion Illinois senior defeated 725 local drivers to win the Illinois State Teenage Driving Road-e-o in Marshall on June 17 and 18. Jerry Wayne Dunn earned top honors and a plaque, radio and trophy, with a Lincoln Mercury prize and a chance to compete in Washington DC for scholarships and a 1966 Comet Cyclone GT.

A truck wreck near Clark Center caused excitement Tuesday night. Christopher Thomas Jr of Martinsville brought a half grown wolf to Marshall.
