Clark County Board of Supervisors met at the courthouse to outline a June start and September adjournment for the Review Board. They approved payments of five dollars per day for election judges for both parties and four dollars for the clerk. An appropriation of seven thousand five hundred dollars was authorized to build a bridge across East Big Creek east of McClure school in Douglas township. The article lists many appointed election judges by precinct and party, and notes Mrs. F. W. Troutman of Peru visited after attending the International Federation of Women’s Clubs in San Antonio, Texas.
Robinson's Business and Professional Women's Club hosted a 7:00 dinner for 29 Marshall businesswomen at the Marshall House. About 60 women from Robinson, Marshall, Palestine, Paris and Lawrenceville attended as officers and members were elected for the Marshall club.
More than 100000 head of cattle were tested in Illinois during May under the livestock disease eradication program led by Stillman J. Stanard. Four counties Douglas Henderson Moultrie and Tazewell will be accredited as tuberculosis free, joining Mercer County to bring the total free districts to 12. In Clark Crawford Cumberland Douglas and Edgar Coles counties, the tests identified several tubercular cattle.

Phil Brown of Indianapolis a Butler College graduate and current athletic director at Washington College Chestertown Maryland will become coach of athletics at Rose Polytechnic Institute on September 1 1928 replacing coach Here Clark whose resignation takes effect then. Brown coached Washington College teams to state championships in 1926 27 and 1927 28 and was Butler football captain in 1920 22 earning four letters.
Word reached here Tuesday of an automobile wreck near Tulsa Oklahoma injuring Mr and Mrs Charles Martin and son Harry. Mrs Martin suffered a broken leg an arm and a shoulder while Mr Martin and Harry were crushed about the chest. Extent of injuries for the Martins and Harry was not known. The accident was caused by bright lights from another car blinding Harry as he failed to see a one way bridge about five miles from Tulsa. The Martins are former Marshall residents and well known here.
Frank E. Ritter age 56 died at his Hot Springs Arkansas home after years of invalidism. His body returned to Marshall for funeral services at the Ritter home with Rev. Howard Leach officiating. He is survived by his wife two brothers Gustave of Marshall and Henry of Van Cleve Iowa and a sister Mrs John Weber of Brooklyn New York. Ritter was a longtime vocalist in the Keith vaudeville circuit and lived in Hot Springs for 19 years.
The Bethany Congregational church choir of West Terre Haute presents The Daughter of Jairus a sacred cantata by Sir John Stainer at 7 30 p m Sunday at the Marshall church directed by C W Heller with Essie Earle Curry organist and a full instrumental and vocal ensemble led by Kenneth Barr and others.
Miss Ruth Noakes and Harry Cropp of Marshall united in marriage at the bride's mother's home. Rev. Howard Leach performed the vows. The bride wore white crepe and carried bride's roses. Attendants were Eleanor Noakes and Lydia English. The couple plans a southern Indiana motor trip and will live with the bride's mother.
Asbury's Community Club holds its regular meeting this evening at Asbury. The program features music and reading selections. People from Sugar Creek township plan on attending with a roll call response presenting a wedding tale or incident.
The District No 1 Sunday school convention in Wabash township will be held at the Dennison M E South church on Sunday June 17. Ruth Washburn will speak on My Trip to the Holy Land along with a full program of songs readings and ministerial remarks throughout the day.
Ralph Knipe came back to Urbana Monday after several days with his mother Mrs. Wm. Knipe. He has pursued postgraduate work at the University of Illinois the past year and may continue studies there this summer.
