Larry Wells Earns Wartime West Point Appointment

Larry Wells of Marshall will report to the United States Military Academy at West Point on July 1 after completing entrance requirements. He secured a principal appointment from Congressman George Shipley and excelled in academics, athletics, and student leadership.

Marshall Band Concert Tonight and Reunion Plans

The Marshall band presents the first concert of the season on the courthouse lawn under Harold Ellshoff. A program includes Moon River and Star Spangled Banner. The same Friday lists numerous local couples from Marshall and nearby towns, plus a note that Tommy Taylor is a patient in Union Hospital.

Law Violations Reported in City of Marshall

A series of cases in Marshall shows drivers cited for license and driving offenses. Robert Thompson fined 50 dollars plus 5 dollars costs for driving without a license. Teddy English fined 15 dollars plus 5 dollars costs for no license and disobeying siren and red light. Emmett Hollingsworth fined 10 dollars with 25.30 dollars costs for disorderly conduct. Tommy Troxel awaiting ticket for speeding. Benny Claypool fined 20 dollars plus 20.30 dollars costs for reckless driving. Marshall Cub Pack to Have Day Camp

Cub Scout Pack 81 will hold a Day Camp at Lincoln Trail State Park on June 26 starting at 2 00 p m The group will meet at the boat dock. At 6 30 p m the scouts and families will gather at the playground for a pot luck supper followed by a Pack meeting Mothers and volunteers are invited to join as den mothers.

Large Marshall High class to enter in history

One of the largest freshman classes to enter Marshall High School this season is promoted from eighth grade on May 25, 1965. Dean Murphy and Dr. George Mitchell presented certificates. Myron Tedrick gave the address titled Which Way.
