What Britain is Doing in the War

Washington, May 28. A strong defense of Great Britain highlights its wartime record, noting massive financial mobilization, recruitment from 160,000 to over four million, and the deployment of more than two million troops. It argues Britain protected global trade with a dominant navy and merchant fleet, supplied allies with war materiel, and financed munitions industries in Europe, while sustaining confidence in liberty and civilization. The piece contrasts perceived American naivete with Britain’s ongoing sacrifices and asks why Britain should not receive prolonged support and justice.
