Casey City Council rescinds Federal Housing plan

In Casey, a 3 2 council vote rescinded the 56 unit Federal Housing project citing a recent public poll showing opposition. Councilman Earl Hensick led the motion with support from Charles Bryant and Ernest Donner. opposing votes came from George Cortelyou and Harry Outright.

Rowe Foundry Burns at Martinsville

Fire tore through the Rowe Foundry and Machine Shop in Martinsville around 3:00 a m with alarms and multiple fire departments aiding. About sixty workers were employed at the site and crews gained control of the blaze by early morning with Marshall Casey and Westfield departments assisting.

Paving Bills Backed, Then Defeated by City Council

The Marshall city council met Monday evening to discuss street paving ordinances for east and west Main Street but both measures were defeated. Otis E. Allen and Alma Graves of Brazil Indiana were married by Rev D D Burt after meeting in Marshall.
