Thurman Huey aged 23 son of Isaac Huey of J. W. Lewis farm drowned while swimming in Mill Creek near Auburn last Sunday afternoon. He disappeared after diving from a piling while others watched. Watchman Faunce found the body in four feet of water despite rescue attempts. Funeral services were held at Auburn yesterday conducted by Rev. Mr. Cochnour.

Mrs Eliza Lowry aged 98 was honored with a birthday dinner at her son Lewis Lowry’s Martinsville township home. Born July 14 1822 in Ohio she moved to Clark County in 1836 and is noted as a pioneer. Survived by two children Lewis and Frank and daughter Elizabeth Wright she remains active, sharp and fond of her pipe after eight decades. The gathering featured old friends and music with memories of early county days and deer hunting.
