Killed With Target Gun In Orange Township
Pearl Chamness 23 son of Rev William Chamness was shot at his home in Orange Township last Wednesday while target practicing with a 22 calibre rifle after a midday meal. The bullet entered under the chin penetrating the brain causing instant death. Coroner Haslitt ruled the death accidental after investigation.

Pearl Chamness born June 22 1890 in Hutsonville Township Crawford County died July 5 in a farm accident. He leaves a father and mother sisters many relatives and friends. He joined Olive Branch Baptist Church at 13 and funeral was held July 11 at Olive Branch Church with Elders Wheeler and Clements leading.
