The Ohio Oil Company's South Fifth street office building in Marshall was destroyed by fire early Saturday. caretaker Sumner Maring woke at 4 45 am and tried to enter the basement but smoke blocked him. The fire department, slow to marshal, could not stop the blaze as wind carried sparks elsewhere. only the garage was damaged and company cars were moved to safety. Records in the vault survived though the building was destroyed. Temporary offices were set in the Arthur Poorman residence, and plans to rebuild in Marshall were discussed with company executives J. K. Kerr and C. G. Carroll traveling to Findlay for talks.

The Marshall High School gym hosted a tight game between the Black Crows of Marshall and the Casey Shamrocks coached by Bruce Thompson. After a 27 27 tie at regulation, five minutes of overtime produced a 30 to 29 win for the Black Crows with Normiunt Dunlap refereeing.
Carleton Trimble of Trimble spoke Tuesday night at the Dairy Short Course at Marshall Township High School. He discussed improving the dairy herd using purebred sires and credited Trimble Bros with promoting Jersey cattle in Crawford County. Next week H Smith of St Mary's College will discuss Holsteins, noting the college herd as a leading example.
John E Boesiger Jr of Marshall and Miss Lillian Corban of Terre Haute quietly married Sunday night at the bride’s parents home in Terre Haute. After visiting relatives they will live in Cleveland Ohio where he has worked for four years.

Gov Len Small announced a special assembly session on January 19 to enact a new primary election law. The call may include a request to validate Chicago bonding power bills. A plan for multiple staggered sessions at the same time was considered, prioritizing primary law then bonding, with Chicago traction possibly third.
Mina Hamilton Rothrock aged about thirty two died Friday morning at her brother Warren Swope's home in Orange township after drinking carbolic acid. Swope found her alive but she died before a doctor arrived. She left letters to her mother and daughter urging care and asking no funeral services. Interment followed at Clive Branch cemetery on Sunday.
Eleven Clark county students are enrolled in the University of Illinois College of Agriculture, ranking fifth among final counties.
