Plant Explosion Kills Sixteen at Terre Haute Plant
An explosion at the Home Packing Plant in Terre Haute around 7 15 Wednesday morning killed sixteen workers and injured fifty two others. The blast damaged parts of the plant, with debris removal and body searches continuing all day and into the night. The damage was about two million dollars. Roy Mathew of Marshall was not near the explosion.

From May through December last year Lincoln Trail State Park hosted over 52000 visitors with cars from every state except North Dakota and Vermont. Foreign visitors included Canada Germany Mexico New Zealand and Sweden. Gate hours are 6 a m to 9 p m with road closures in slick or freezing conditions. Lake ice measures six to seven inches and catches of bluegill and bass are reported by custodian Leon Cooper.
