M. A. Wernz of Route 1 West Union received a sow and pig management award from Moorman Manufacturing Company. He was given a simulated Oak Plaque featuring a sow and nursing pigs, with a brass plate bearing his name.
Marshall Lions beat Oblong 77 to 67 on their court Friday night to raise season mark to 14 wins and 7 losses. Four players reached double figures led by John McNary with 21, Larry Gardner 16, Jim Wetzel 14, and Bill Pine 12. Lions face Martinsville in regional at Pat's on Wednesday March 4 at 8 15.
Charles A. Bush, general chairman of the volunteer savings bonds committee for Clark County, received a United States Treasury service pin for more than ten years of leadership in promoting series E and H Savings bonds. Appointed in 1954, he represents the Treasury in drives and in month to month promotions targeting bankers, savings and loan officials, industrialists, newspapers, broadcasters, labor and local leaders to raise awareness and sales.

Harold Morecraft and wife announce their third child a daughter Diana Harold born February 18 at Union Hospital weighing 7 pounds 6 ounces mother Evelyn Holmes. Mr and Mrs George Mobley of Terre Haute are parents of a son born February 18 at Union Hospital named George Nathan. Mother Anna Marie Imle is daughter of Harold Imle.

Mary Ann Morris of West Union is chosen to represent Marshall at the 24th Tiins Girls State session hosted by the American Legion Auxiliary Post 90. The 1964 event runs June 16 to 23 at MacMurray College Jacksonville Illinois with about 500 attendees.
The American Legion Auxiliary runs Illini Girls State with leaders forming two parties as the simulated state government assembles. Delegates elect state officers, attend a girls nation session in Washington DC, meet the Illinois governor in Springfield, tour state buildings, and visit Lincoln’s tomb. Perry Yonts 74 of Terre Haute died at his home at 600 a.m. Thursday morning of last week. He leaves one daughter Miss Jean Yonts of Los Angeles and several nieces and nephews. Funeral was held Saturday at 1000 a.m. at Hickman Funeral Home. Burial followed in Livingston Cemetery.
