The troupe returns for a second week with a new repertoire opening with Broadway Higgins Pat Gallagher co stars as a county sheriff with Lew Beckridge and previously played His Ace in the Hole.
T R Lovett went to St Louis Missouri a week ago Monday to serve as representative for the Procter Gamble Company of Cincinnati Ohio. He will make St Louis his headquarters with W W Hogue his father in law managing the dairy in the area.
John Dennis Keyes infant son of Mr and Mrs Kenneth Keyes and grandson of Mr and Mrs Martin Keyes formerly of Marshall was buried Thursday February 4 in Pleasanton Texas. Mr and Mrs Martin Keyes were well known in Marshall having lived there for some time.

Baritone Glen Ellison with pianist Miss Aita Hill will perform at the Methodist church Thursday evening February 24 at 8:00. The invitation concert is sponsored by H. M. Dewey & Company. Ellison’s operatic and musical comedy experience is noted, with Hill providing piano solos and accompaniment.
In Terre Haute Indiana February 16 a Marshall man Jarvis M. Smith 26 a Penn Railroad car repairman living in Marshall was jailed for operating an auto while intoxicated after a crash south of New Goshen Sheriff Ray Fencannon Deputy Sheriff Troutman and two escorts were following. The sheriff's car was damaged about 300 dollars. Smith's car rolled several times but he was uninjured.
Mrs. Louis Hollingsworth aged 79 dies at home in Marshall on Wednesday. Survived by husband, two sons Hermar of Marshall and Charles of Martinsville, and three daughters Mrs Henry Meehling of Marshall, Mrs Viola Boyer and Mrs Lacey OBristr of Indianapolis. Funeral at St Marys Church at 9:00 AM with burial in St Marys Cemetery.

Marshall township high school glee clubs under Miss Martha Wilber stage Love Pirates of Hawaii at Pythian theater on March 3 and 4. Otis M. Carrington wrote the operetta in two acts with a nine member cast, 20 Hawaiian girls, 10 pirates, and a 14 piece orchestra. Posters won by Theron Dewey, Etta Mae Mitchell, and Grace Marie Pedlar.
Marshall grade school basketball teams faces West Union in the county tournament at Casey this weekend. Coach Martin lists George Cole Elmer Fawley Dean Jones Lee Clause James Murphy James Stober George Mitchell Franklin Welsh Boyd Lucan Silas Jackson Laverne Martin and Gene Spotts among the entrants. The squad previously edged West Union 19 to 18 in Marshall’s gym on a late free throw by George Cole, with overtime following a tight game.

Washington Feb 16 Authority for a 104000 loan to Illinois River Valley farmers for feed and seed grain would be provided in House Bill No 17066. The bill, introduced by Representative Rainey, would set terms and regulations to be prescribed by the Secretary of Agriculture.

Dan Spittler, local Chevrolet dealer, sold out Wednesday to A. H. Simpson and FS Reisner, Casey Chevrolet dealers. Simpson and Reisner now own all county agencies with sub dealers in every town. Possession set for March 1. Spittler undecided on his next move.
Forty five children aged five to nine attended a Valentine themed story hour at the Marshall Public Library on Saturday from 1 to 2 pm. Miss Mabel Ferris led the program and supervised activities.
Alex Gilmour of New Goshen Indiana wed Mildred Whitted of Clinton Indiana on Saturday. Squire Tom Craig also united Dean L. Montgomery and Cecil R. Nicholson of Dolson township on Monday. Wednesday morning he married Martin P. Kopp and Lena Huffman of Terre Haute.
A specimen believed to be the European corn borer was found on the farm of J. J. Trodgon in eastern Edgar County Illinois near the Indiana line. The sample was sent to Springfield for examination.
Mr. Purdum learns of his sister Mrs Mary Maurer of Parlin New Jersey death occurred last Tuesday in an Easton Pennsylvania hospital from injuries in a Sunday automobile accident. Also court notices show probate actions and a Masons degree event at Lanville Consistory on February 23 at 7 30 pm in the high school gym.

Fee, works at the Brown Smart Shop, while Lyman, of Marshall Oil, has Terre Haute ties through Lincoln Oil Co. employment. The couple became engaged in November after her diamond ring was given.
H H Peters praises Rev J I O'Neal of Marshall for leadership of part time churches. O Neal has closed North Terre Haute church work and now preaches for White House in Lawrence County and Five Points near home. Peters notes shortage of full time ministry among Illinois churches and praises shared ministry solutions.
Street commissioner Wm Morgan led a two day cleaning of Marshall streets that had been neglected for several months. City crews assisted as workers scrubbed and swept major thoroughfares to restore sanitation and appearance.
