Judy King, one of two magazine saleswomen who visited Marshall last week, was charged with disorderly conduct. She pleaded guilty after arraignment before Circuit Judge Zollie Arbogast, and was fined $131.40 plus $50 restitution for damages, totaling $181.40, paid in full.

William L. Garver of Marshall retires from Union Electric Company of Missouri effective January 1 1965 at age 62 after 47 years in line work. He began with A T T on July 28 1917 and has 25 years with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Nos 2 and 1439. He and wife Mazie will reside at 411 South Tenth Street where his father once lived.
Everett Smith and Iona Smith of Casey receive a marriage license in Terre Haute. Bernard Hedges of Terre Haute and Mabel E. Garver of Marshall obtain a license in Carmi. A young man robbed a sleeping car on the Big Four but was driven off by passengers and jailed. Terre Haute police round up twenty hoboes. two Marshall stores burglarized. A 47 car special train carrying 942 horses moves from St. Louis to New York for European battlefront delivery.

A carload of Hereford cattle weighing about 1200 pounds each, sent by Percy Cox and Ed Renner to the International Stock Show in Chicago the first week in December, placed fourth and brought 15 cents a pound on the market. Edwin Booth Poorman died December 5 in Coral Gables Florida at age. He was son of Arthur Poorman and Ruth B Poorman formerly of Marshall. He attended the University of Michigan played track and football. He practiced law in Chicago Heights served as corporation counsel and city manager. Survived by widow Claudia and four children Elizabeth Michael John Poorman Claudia and Jack.
The American Legion Auxiliary Choir presents a 30 minute Christmas program on Sunday December 13 at 4 00 on WTHI TV. Sponsored by Marshall Chamber of Commerce Fall Festival committee American Legion Post 90 and the Lions Club the show features Silent Night Sleigh Ride and The Hallelujah Chorus with Frank Pearce s sleigh and Marian Fitzgarrald and Helen Moore in key roles as accompanist and director.
