The Clark county Farm Bureau executive committee met from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to review the year and finalize plans for the upcoming annual meeting at the courthouse on December 20. Nine elected members represent farming lines alongside a president vice president secretary and treasurer. The group includes farm crops livestock dairying soils and home improvement. About 172 new members brought total membership above 700. The Illinois Agricultural Association and American Farm Bureau Federation consult this committee on county and national issues. City Council Acts On Readability And Rates
At a Monday night meeting the council ordered all home light meters moved outside for easier reading with city labor and property provided. Water rates for railroads rose from 15 to 25 cents per thousand gallons and milk condensary and ice plant charges increased from 10 to 15 cents. these hikes take effect January 4, 1924.
