An autopsy found no poison but kidneys were inflamed. coroner’s jury ruled death from kidney inflammation. Survived by two small children. body to be shipped to Gay, West Virginia for burial.

Joel Serber died Friday evening at the home of Samuel Shiveler on north Sixth street of paralysis. He was 75, an ex soldier who lived partly at the Soldiers' Home and partly here. Survived by a son and daughter in Terre Haute, a son in Brazil Indiana, and another in Memphis Tennessee. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Shiveler home conducted by Rev. Calvin Asbell Lowry 15 son of B F and Alice Lowry of Arcola died in a Charleston sanitarium after a 10 day illness from appendicitis. He was a student at the State Normal School and underwent an operation October 31. Funeral services were held October 10 at the M E church conducted by Rev Casely. He leaves his parents one brother and other relatives. Floral offerings were sent by friends. Public sale announced near Marshall for farm stock and implements on Wednesday December 15.
