Rev R F Perdue pastor announces revival services at Dunlap Chapel with preaching at 7 30 each evening. The second quarterly meeting is scheduled for December 6 and 7 with presiding elder Rev W T Mathis delivering sermons at Dunlap Sunday morning and Dennison Sunday night.

Pastor J B Evans urges members to attend Sunday school and church every Sunday this month. A series of Christmas sermons begins Sunday evening. The quarterly conference meets December 13 at 2 PM, with December 10 as quarterly settlement day for Methodism.

The U B church in Marshall hosted a strong five week revival with Miss Hughes returning and Mr Matthews scheduled to speak to the men at 2 30 p m Sunday. Grace Chapel hosts preaching with Matthews and Hughes and a Wednesday prayer meeting while Centenary holds Tuesday evening service.
Otis E Watson and wife attend ongoing church meetings while the Fasigs visit from Chicago and plan winter in Akron. Six ministers at the Christian church face a smaller crowd amid revival season. A house fire damages $25 and heating improvements upgrade the church and residences. Pending railroad changes may eliminate a state road crossing near town. Notable visits include Mrs Henry Marrs and son from Indianapolis and Willis McDaniel from Mississippi. The town hosts high school basketball on December 6 after a 36 to 15 win at home over Montrose.
Snyder Win Serwise and son Luther Dean were guests of P E Cornwell Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Charles Ogle and daughter Gladys visited her sister Mrs Isaac Mattis and family. Mr and Mrs Roy Pittenger and Opal May spent Thanksgiving with Sol Pittenger and wife. Mr and Mrs Randall Haddix visited Thomas Haddix's home Thursday. Palmer Cornwell dined with Martha and Ola Collier. Ira and Faye Pittenger spent the weekend with their parents Sol Pittenger.

Charles Nickles son of Edward and Elizabeth Nickles was born December 25 1840 in Edgar county and died November 23 1924 at age 83. He married Susan Greenwell and had six children. surviving are Mrs Tom Drake Mrs Tom Phillips Miss Elsie Boils William and a grandson George Boils. He served in the Cavalry War in the 57th Indian Regiment and suffered long illness before relief. Funeral services were held at Dennison VE church South with Rev R F Perdue and Sister Stella Gasaway. burial at Ferris cemetery with Dennison Masons in charge.
