Word has been received that Rev JF S Wamaley a retired member of the Illinois Conference and former pastor of the Marshall Methodist circuit is seriously ill and cared for in the Methodist hospital at Indianapolis His daughter Mrs Gertrude W Campbell reports he is gaining a little and there are hopes of recovery
Clark County Farm Advisor Worth W. Merritt urges farmers to obtain Bulletin No. 252 from the University of Illinois Agricultural Experiment Station. He notes that long term farm accounting improves organization and operation and boosts average net income, with limited copies available at the Farm Bureau office.
Nine year old Jean Brewster suffered a leg fracture above the ankle after running in front of a car driven by Deputy Sheriff Harry Coldren at the Sixth street and Michigan avenue intersection. He was taken to Dr. R A Mitchell's office for treatment.

Herbert E. Jameson and Vira B. Overman of Wabash Indiana were married by Squire Tom Craig on Friday. Raymond C. Towles of Kansas and Grace B. McAnally of Hume were married by Squire Craig on Monday.

Monday night Ernie Walker’s West Main street store was pried open with tampered locks and items stolen include cigars cigarettes marshmallows motor oil and cookies. At Auburn Hurley Veach store intruders were frightened away before any theft occurred.
Paris officers found two Terre Haute girls Virginia Price age 13 and Margaret Snell age 18 asleep at the Vandalia depot. They said a man abducted them on the way to school in a large car, swapped vehicles in Terre Haute, then drove them to a distant spot before releasing them to walk home. Parents were notified and the girls returned home. Police suspect a bootlegger used them as a blind.
The Community Motor Bus Company will discontinue its Marshall runs tonight marking the last service. Buses will still operate the Effingham to St. Louis route for passengers.
Mrs Martha Lichtenberger, 81, died Monday at Anna State Hospital in Anna Illinois. Funeral services were held yesterday at 2:00 PM at the home of her son Harry in Marshall with Rev Howard Leach officiating. Interment was in Marshall cemetery.
David Thomas Graham age 84 of Douglas township died Wednesday night. Funeral services were held this morning at 10:00 a m at the Clarksville church. Burial followed in the Clarksville cemetery.
Delmas Cooper son of Homer Cooper and Alma Freeman daughter of Charles Freeman of West Union were married in Paris on Friday November 20 by Judge Lauher. They will reside in Scotland Illinois.

A granger complains about the rascalities of mankind after stacking stove wood crosswise in his wagon.
Forty years ago Dulaney and Briscoe introduce a new money changer with front buttons for different amounts. In Martinsville several men attended a Wide Awake dance. Henry Crol suffered a stroke while feeding his dogs, later found at the hog pen. He remains paralyzed on the right side but shows slow improvement and is expected to recover.
A cow belonging to La Cole escaped a cistern after a trench was dug to the bottom. Mr and Mrs Lynn R Parker of Lincoln Minnos welcomed a baby boy born November 22 1905. Edith McCann daughter of Col Newton McCann is well remembered. Burglaries occurred Tuesday night at Harry Dulaney and Sol Handy homes with no loot. Mrs Jesse Gasaway fractured her ankle stepping off a walk Saturday night.
Ten years ago Miss Helen English suffered serious injuries after her horse ran away near Vandalia station. Snow storms arrived Sunday and Monday. The old weather prophets offered nine winter theories, likely all wrong. George Hurst suffered injuries when a scaffold fell at Booth Handy room. Paris issued a marriage license for Obe Veach and Sarah Hurst of Auburn. Mrs Charles Cole, Harry Cole and Miss Marguerite Scott visited Centralia last week.
Ed Bethards of Taylorville Illinois is appointed manager of the new C. I. P. S. branch here succeeding George Hallouer. He has 15 years with C. J. P. S. plus experience in electricity and ice manufacture. He plans to move with his family to Marshall to assume residence there as soon as possible.

Sheriff J M Turner went to Indianapolis and brought back Jay Cusick who was wanted for jumping a £500 bond signed by Robi Thompson and Andrew Lindsey on April 7, 1924. Cusick was charged with violating motor vehicle law and transporting intoxicating liquor. He pled guilty yesterday morning, was fined 25 dollars and costs, and sentenced to 30 days in jail.
Rev. Combs will begin a revival meeting at the McKeen church tomorrow night with services announced for the coming week.
Stop-and-go signs now operate at Sixth and Locust, and at the highway crossing. Residents observe them. a city council discussion next Monday will address the city's legal right to place the signs, though the public generally supports them regardless of enforceability.
AFP Burger and Hal Kesler returned Sunday from Farina Illinois where they purchased a car of Guernsey cows. Mr Burger took ten of the best cows in the car, each costing an average of 115.70 dollars. The herd was tested Sunday morning after unloading here, testing 5.3 in butter fat.
The Marshall Public Library placed three new adult fiction books on the pay shelf at two cents a day and a five cent minimum. Glorious Apollo by E Barrington tells of Byron’s stormy career and loves, The Professor’s House by Wills Catherine explores a family’s fate, Caravan features Tom Outland and the St Peters family.
Marshall Chamber of Commerce heard the annual report on the tourist park from Secretary Abbie Clark. Attendance fell about 40 percent due to road closures but the year was financially successful and improvements are planned for next season. A Christmas tree event was slated for December 14 with music and a program.
Washington December 1 charges were leveled that George W English of East St Louis Illinois used influence to appoint an attorney in a receivership case and interfered with Federal district court action in Southern Illinois during a special House committee probe into his record.
The Clark County Farm Bureau will hold its annual meeting on December 16 at Marshall. Senator A. S Cuthbertson will deliver the main address. Property transfers include several land deals and town Lot sales with nominal sums listed.
