Filling Station Raided. Owner Arrested for Prohibition Violation
Andrew Lindsey owner of a Weaver filling station eight miles east of Marshall was arrested Saturday night on a prohibition charge. Sheriff Coldren Deputy Cropp and Ed Nayra raided the station and confiscated eight gallons of beer. Lindsey posted a $1000 bond, signed by Charles Short, and was released pending the November circuit court term.

Naomi Stephens won first in chicken calling with Lulu Babcock second. Floyd Wesnitzer led the milking men at 3.9 pounds per minute, A. J. Batts second. Ed Beckwith topped the ladies milking at 244 pounds per minute, Lulu Babcock second. Dean Davidson won singles horseshoe with C V Wright second. the winning team was Dean and Bill Davidson. They will represent Clark County at the district picnic in Watseka on August 22. South side defeated north 5 to 0 in the baseball game. The oldest exhibitors were J. J. Meehling 80 and wife 66. Jess Veach had the largest family.
