Lincoln crosses narrow Martinsville bridge crash injures four
A Lincoln traveling east at fifty miles per hour struck the iron bridge east of Martinsville Wednesday afternoon. EH I Rahn of Weester Groves Missouri drove the car into both sides of the bridge, demolishing parts of the vehicle and injuring four other occupants including his wife and daughter plus his brother and his wife. None of the injuries appear immediately fatal.

Local court sentences for liquor and intoxication offenses
In county court this week Jesse Foraker received 60 days on the Vandalia penal farm and a $100 fine after pleading guilty to transporting liquor. Ernest Ramsey of Terre Haute drew 126 days on the penal farm and a $100 fine for selling intoxicating liquor. Alvey Dulaney was fined $50 and jailed 30 days for driving while intoxicated. Sheriff Turner turned over two Hutsonville men named Jewell and Johnson to Paris authorities as they were wanted on a county charge.

Claude Tagart of Martinsville unveils the Whirlwind Soybean and Sweet Clover Harvester patented July 8. Demonstration near Martinsville shows the device attached to a Fordson tractor. it harvests seed and plows furrows about five inches deep while collecting clover seed in a sieve. Large attendance at Clark county Sunday school convention
The Clark county Sunday school convention in Martinsville at the Methodist church drew a very large turnout with representation from all nine districts. A ministers conference formed plans for a permanent Clark county ministers union, to meet Monday at 2:00 p.m. for organization. Mrs. Virgil Fox of near Clarksville died instantly when she jumped from a wagon crossing the Pennsylvania line west of town and was struck by freight train No. 272 at 10:15 PM. Her husband survived the attempt. coroner's verdict ruled accidental death by railroad engine as the wagon party returned from a band concert. Burial followed at Clarksville Baptist Church with Rev. Bert Eckle officiating.

Couple Discovers Drowned Man Near Potfish Lake
Mr and Mrs Phil Brown honeymooning at Hillside Resort in Vilas County Wisconsin found a bloated man’s body near Potfish Lake while fishing. Coroner Denton said no foul play and the victim, likely a wandering laborer aged 40 to 45, wore work clothes and had four dollars in his pockets. The body was taken to Phelps then buried in Eagle River.
