Clark county Sunday school convention will be held in Casey on Thursday and Friday August 29 and 30. Officials hope it becomes the county’s greatest convention with state worker Sehenck ill and Bach school delegates attending, as crowds gather near Mt. Carmel for the event.

Mrs. Magdalina Dietz longtime county resident died Sunday at age 91 at her home three miles west of the city. She lived in the county fifty years and is survived by two sons Ho Ward and Charles and four daughters Eliza Cramer Caroline Arbuckle Lennie Speck and Mary Siverly. Funeral services were held at the family home conducted by Rev. L. J. Ehrhardt. She was born June 8 1821 in Ellmendingen Germany and came to New Orleans in 1849 then moved to Marion county Ohio and later this county. Her husband died 28 years ago and six children preceded her in death. She leaves 33 grandchildren 35 great grandchildren and many other relatives. She was a faithful Evangelical Association member and a large crowd followed the body to Marshall cemetery for burial.

A thief entered Nap Nightlinger's east town stable last night and stole a valuable driving mare. He then went to Sam Scholfield's farm north of the city, stole a buggy and harness, and drove off leaving no trace.

Mrs. Jane Griffin died unexpectedly Thursday at her son Thomas’s home near the city. Funeral services were held in Auburn with Rev. E. M. Pierson officiating. Born Jane Lee in 1838, she married Ebenez er Roberts in 1861 and Robert P. Griffin later, leaving four sons, two daughters, 26 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two sisters. She spent most of her life in Clark county and joined the M. P. church early.
Mr and Mrs Ben Keefer Mr and Mrs Bruce Shively and two children were injured when passing a hay laden rig near Oliver Wednesday as their car left the road. Hugo Faust was thrown and injured when his team frightened his vehicle south of the city. Stacey Haines from Middletown Ohio was fined after striking Irene Setzer near State Line. he paid $25 to Setzer for damage.
