Gas Burns Death Near Crawford in Double Accidents
In Lawrence and Crawford counties a threshing engine ran over a gas pipeline causing a fire and two accidents. Elmer Guyer died from burns after his clothing caught fire and he rolled to extinguish flames. William Roush suffered serious burns but survived. Guyer, son of Leander Guyer, was married to Cora Newlin and left a daughter. The body was buried near Hutsonville.

Railroad Man's Terrible Fate
Earl D. Hyatt of Danville a railroad car distributor and assistant train dispatcher for Hig Four was killed in Lyons yards Thursday morning. The switch engine backing at five miles an hour ran him down as he stepped from its tender and slipped on a stone. One wheel passed, he was cut nearly in two above the hips and died after about 20 minutes. Hyatt was well known along the Cairo division and liked by many.

Roy Williamson of Casey was killed yesterday afternoon when he stepped onto the Vandalia line in front of an engine as it approached the station. Several men witnessed the incident. Williamson had been in poor health and is thought to have been mentally deranged. He ran an implement business in Casey for years and leaves a wife and two young children.
