A Burn sides Home open house toured 20 to 25 visitors per group, with guides outlining heating plumbing ventilation and air conditioning in each room. Visitors viewed storage laundry examining therapy and kitchen areas and were thanked by the board for support and investments.
Clark County Board of Supervisors met in Marshall in special session to organize with Casimer Trefz nominated as chair. Committees include State Aid Richard Cline William Kile Hugh Smith Lowell Bennett John Douglas and others for Farm Improvement Insurance Budget Claims Printing Poor Tuberculosis Ferry Rules Justice Civil Defense. Later a parking meter near Marshall Co op was pried from its concrete base and moved toward Clarksville, likely for pay off, but little cash remained.
Word from Marshall reports Mrs. J M Davison died last Monday in Naples Florida. Burial was in Arkansas City Oklahoma. Mr Davison was a former Marshall resident and the son of the late John H Davison.
Two young men passed a forged check at Ornwell Store in Melrose and were spotted by Sheriff Pearce. Deputy Litteral chased the car, bringing them to Marshall. Both pled guilty to deceptive practices, fined 100 dollars each, and sentenced to six months in jail. The check was for 24.30 and the car was stolen from Helen Graybear of Bloomington Illinois. Ronald Gaffney 21 gave no address. Larry L Collins 19 listed East Peoria Illinois.
Southern Homes Inc of Charleston formally changes its name to The Reasor Corporation as of March 11 1963 to simplify selling and accounting and to enable nationwide business under one name. Walter H Reasor Jr leads the firm with new financing subsidiaries and a $10 000 to $30 000 housing range targeting owner completion.
Carl Haldt, fourteen, of Marshall, leaped into Lincoln Trail State Park lake when Karen Marie Klute, two and a half, fell from a boat. He grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to safety as the child went under twice. Professor Arnold Klute, Urbana, and others witnessed the rescue.
A Terre Haute meeting at Washington Avenue Presbyterian Church completed plans for the Covered Bridge Girl Scout Council annual gathering. Delegates from the area included Mrs. Frank Mitchell, Mrs. Louise Burky bile, Mrs. Maurice Fasig, and Mrs. Frank Coleman. Twenty years ago in 1943, the Melrose township farm home of Mr and Mrs Cyrus Evans was burned Sunday morning. Miss Virginia Barnett and Cpl Edgar Tingley wed at Zion church on Wednesday April 14 at 3 00 pm. Members of Armstrong Methodist Church prepare dedication events for May 5 1963 marking completion of additions to church school rooms rest rooms and storage space. Dr Robert Caulderwood Rev E C Ham and Rev O H Sweitzer will lead services beginning at 9 30 am with Sunday school and baptism followed by an extended dedication service and fellowship period.

Marshall Lions Club received the district Governor Plaque for the greatest community service by a club in the district. About 700 attended the Decatur Masonic Temple where zone chairman Joe Staub and President T. R. Lovett accepted on behalf of the club.

The Lincoln Trail Riders hosted the season opening horse show at Marshall's Clark County Fairgrounds last Sunday. Fourteen events drew forty three horses and riders with judge Robert Hollensbe noting all entries received first place ribbons in listed classes. Tom Hills of Westfield was arrested for gas theft and released on bond.
Clark County young Republicans and Republican Womens Federated Club hold a joint meeting at the Knights of Pythias lodge hall Marshall Friday April 26 at 6 30 pm. It is a pot luck with meat and drinks furnished attendees should bring their own service.

Congressman George E. Shipley announced a 29200 loan from the Public Housing Administration to the Clark County Housing Authority to begin planning 146 new low rent homes in four localities Casey Marshall Martinsville and Westfield. Seventy nine units will serve elderly residents. The loan marks the first local federal contract for the project and leads to development plans and eventual annual contributions contracts.
