Sergeant Cassady of the U S Army visited on Thursday to recruit volunteers. Sidney Bartlett and Leland Hirschman enlisted in the Army. Three applicants were rejected. Ralph Tibbs joined the Navy as an electrician and left for the Brooklyn yard. Russell Rader Horace Crumlin and Wayne Tingley from West Union enlisted in the coast artillery.
