Death of D Y McMullen Prominent Marshall Citizen
Former Marshall resident Daniel Y. McMullen died Sunday at his Freeport home after a long illness. Born January 5 1843 in Hillin Ontario he came to Chicago in 1867 then Marshall where he started the citys first bank. He later moved to Picton Canada Chicago and Freeport later operating a hardware business. He is survived by his wife four brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were held at Benson Martins home conducted by Rev E Taylor with interment in the city cemetery.
