Terrible Maring Disaster reports the large steamer Titanito striking an iceberg off Newfoundland on her maiden voyage from Liverpool to New York. Of 2170 aboard, 868 escaped. 1802 were lost including Major Butt, W T Stead, and F D Miller. Most survivors were women and children.

Mrs. Margaret Frakes Low wife of William Low died after long illness at her home in Marshall aged 68 years 11 months. Funeral at Bethel church conducted by Rev. Rupp and Rev. I. E. Les. Born April 27, 1843 in Clark County she married Oct. 20 1861 and had six children two of whom preceded her. Survived by husband three daughters Mrs. Salter Mrs. Slusser Mrs. Goodwin, seven grandchildren two great grandchildren four brothers and two sisters. Active Christian and friend to all.
