Woman Dead After Collision Near Marshall

A woman 44, Ivanda Gulbis, was killed when her car was hit as her husband Talivaldis Gulbis tried to pass a westbound pickup two miles west of Marshall. Coroner's inquest to follow. body sent to London Ohio. Also notes Clark County tax delinquencies and plan to use Credit Bureau of Lawrenceville to collect delinquent personal property taxes.

American Legion Auxiliary Meeting Held With Speaker

The American Legion Auxiliary met on Tuesday April 20 at 8 00 p m with President Ruth Fetters in charge. Mrs Mildred Frazier spoke on Costa Rica and a coupon drive for veterans support was urged listing many brands and products for collection. Betty Meyers chairs the coupon drive and requests community assistance.

Former Marshall Native Frank Greenough Dies in California

Frank W Greenough 79 died Saturday night April 17 at Tri City Hospital Oceanside California. A Marshall native he moved to California in 1919 with his family. Surviving son Robert Greenough Vista CA brother Edwin B Greenough Vista CA and four grandchildren. Funeral services and burial were in Whittier California with relatives visiting the sister the late Mrs Dc A Dixon.

Nazarene Ambassador to Speak at Weekend Revival

Rev Lynn Smith, senior at Olivet Nazarene College, will headline weekend revival at the Church of the Nazarene April 23 to 25. One of sixteen Nazarene ambassadors, he toured Central and Latin America last summer, recounting with pictures from British Guiana, Puerto, and Nicaragua likely shown Saturday night.

Flora High students shine at two fairs as teacher Mattis earns NSF grant

Flora High students, led by science teacher F. E. Mattis, won five first places at Greenville Regional and Charleston District science fairs. Mattis is one of 40 U S teachers chosen for a National Science Foundation Chemistry Institute grant to study at Colorado State University in Colorado Springs from June 26 to August 15.

On April 25 the Vigo Rock and Gem Club presents a display of minerals rocks lapidary work silver jewelry Indian artifacts and shell collections from 1 to 5 pm in the Elks downtown ballroom on North Seventh Street adjacent to the camp.
