A visitor recalls a Washington excursion on a holiday. Case Homer Walls of Anderson township was arrested Saturday by Game Warden Tumey charged with Killing game out of season. Walls says dogs treed a couple of squirrels on his own place and he idled them with an ax. 205 To Whom It May Concern: word comes that boys and men violating the fish law by divers means prohibited by the laws of this state. The body of Valent Grande a 17 year old telegraph messenger boy from Terre Haute disappeared on March 8 and was found in a ravine near St Mary of the Woods. He had been dead several weeks with a crushed skull indicating murder.
At the meeting held in the court house last Thursday night arrangements were made for a general turnout tomorrow to work the roads. From the city committees were appointed to oversee the effort with Sol Handy and Frank Cole assigned to supervise the Robinson road from Grand Turn south. They have raised the money needed but cannot start until next week when an engine and grader will be employed for the work.
The Photoplay Company acquired the Cres cent Theater equipment and good will after purchasing the Pythian Theater, closing Cres cent. SHI, manager of the Photoplay Co., has provided fine service and shown patrons’ interests are cared for. The consolidation allows the Pythian to present a first class bill consistently with only high class offerings.

Old Marshall resident Huffington, nearly 87, was struck and killed by a southbound Big Four mail train near his son Will’s home. Engineer Edward Bixby said the man appeared hard of hearing and did not leave the track. Huffington’s left side was crushed, several ribs broken, and his neck fractured. Funeral services were held at the Evangelical church with interment in the city cemetery.

Voters approved a two mill library maintenance tax by 92 despite strong opposition and unusual voting mistakes. Turnout reached 570 for mayor and 742 for the library proposition.

William C. Thompson a farmer from lower Wabash township near the Fishback school house died after injuries from a fall in a hay mow about two weeks earlier. He was 61 and leaves a family. Funeral services will be held at the family residence at 10 o clock tomorrow. Jacob Wyrick died Monday at his home ten miles east of Marshall from pneumonia. He was 48, survived by wife and two children. Funeral services will be held at Livingston today conducted by Rev Y O Hi Sweitzer.
A dog poisoner has operated in the past week, killing scores of dogs and a valued dog. The culprit also killed several chickens by placing poison. Neighborhoods seek the culprit as a growing number of residents demand action and safety.
Yesterday's election saw twenty two cities vote on the saloon proposition. Litchfield achieved its tenth vote on the issue showing a wet result. Cairo, known as a saloon stronghold, went wet by four votes. Flora voted out the billiard and pool rooms.
Advices from Washington report that Turkish regular troops have restored order in Urmia Persia after a recent slaughter of Christians. Missionaries were attacked and Rev Mr Allen and his family are among those located in Urmia.
Mayor Donn Roberts and fourteen conspirators who stole the Terre Haute election last fall are now in Ft Leavenworth, serving sentences from one to six years. A few seek a U S Supreme Court appeal while others accept punishment. Crawford Fairbanks failed to appear to post bond. Terre Haute city council moves impeachment for malfeasance and the new administration closes gambling and saloons, pledging permanent changes.
The Clark County Medical Society held its annual meeting with Dr T J Lewis presenting the paper on Perineal Lacering. Officers elected for the year include P P Haslitt vice president S W Weir secretary treasurer L J Weir delegate L A Burnside alternate delegate P P Haslitt censor R H Bradley A Mitchell L A Johnson legislative committee S De Bradley. A resolution protested a proposed bill allowing opticians to practice without a regular medical course.
The Clark County Board of Supervisors in Marshall Illinois is called to meet at the courthouse on April 26 1916 at 1 PM to organize the board and allow claims presented against the county and to transact other business. Dated Marshall IL April 13 1996.

John Lowe sold his west side hardware store to J T Cougill of Toledo with the transfer taking effect yesterday. Cougill is former Cumberland county treasurer who retired last fall, while Lowe plans to move to a farm near Toledo and keep U S cream separator agency to canvass this summer.
