Boyer House Burns Near Grandview
Fire destroyed the home of Prosper A. Boyer south of Grandview on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Boyer and their young son escaped via a ladder from an upstairs window. Investigators suspect an incubator caused the blaze. The family previously lost a home to fire a year earlier and some coverage was provided by insurance.

Deaths of Mrs Herman Heimburger and Miss Mary Freeman
Mrs Herman Heimburger of Forest Park died of pneumonia at 55 after leaving Marshall two decades earlier. She is survived by her husband and one daughter, with funeral attended by Mrs Behner. Miss Mary Freeman, daughter of D A Freeman the Melrose blacksmith, was seriously injured when thrown from a buggy with multiple leg fractures and severe bruising, but was later reported to be improving.

Esther M Riley formerly of Marshall died Friday in St Louis Missouri. Born January 20 1861 she lived in Marshall most of her life and worked 31 years with the Church Progress Catholic publication becoming its manager. She leaves two sisters Anna Riley of Chicago and Sister M Borromeo Alma Brown of St Marys of the Woods. Funeral held Monday at St Marys Church in Marshall with friends recalling her active church work.

Livestock Association Plans Coop With County Fair
A Livestock Association formed by the Farm Bureau plans to cooperate with the county fair to build hog and sheep pens and a sales pavilion. The Iroquois County Fair Board and the association will hear L W Wise county agent give an account of the cooperation at a meeting set for April 18 at the Farm Bureau offices in Martinsville. Airmen from Chanute Field to visit Marshall for aviation drive
Chanute Flying Field pilots will tour Illinois with five officers to recruit for air service. Aiming to enlist 15 000 men nationwide the party will perform two air demonstrations in Marshall from 9 am to 12 am next Wednesday April 23 weather permitting.
