Young thieves nabbed as ring theft leads to arrests
Lloyd Matthews of this city was arrested in Terre Haute after entering a jewelry store to have a diamond ring filled off his finger. He confessed to stealing from True Booth and implicated Leslie Kibby of Marshall in multiple robberies including a Christmas time break-in at North Side school and a home theft. Police recovered the stolen jewelry from pawn shops and tied Kibby to the case. Kibby was later arrested in Peoria. Matthews’s wife and baby are mentioned. Terre Haute suspects link him to another car theft.

Clyde A Wyrick aged 15 years 10 months died at his home in Wabash township after a long illness and a three week period of unconsciousness. He was a cheerful boy loved by family and friends and survived by his parents three brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were held at Livingston church with Rev Kirkland officiating. Pallbearers were fellow youths: Leon Garner Willie Kuykendall Everett Smith Herbert Smith Charles May and Roy Liffick.
